Registered Owners
Virgo Care Homes is jointly owned by Gwyneth and Nanette Virgo. Hollylodge Residential Home has been owned by the partners since December 18th 2000 and Thomas Gabrielle has been owned since 8th April 2005 with the building of TGEMI completed in 2012.
Registered Managers
Gwyneth Virgo
Gwyneth is the Registered Manager at TGEMI and has attained qualifications in N.V.Q level 2 and 3 in care, N.E.B.S. Management Certificate, D32/D33 Assessors award and the Level 4 Registered Managers Award.
Gwyneth has gained her knowledge of Caring for the older person by working for Gwent Health Authority for 21 years. This involved working at all the local hospitals and 16 years as a member of the Newport Community Nursing Team.
Gwyneth has also owned/managed a small residential home for 6 years prior to purchasing Hollylodge.
Nanette Virgo
Nanette is the Registered Manager at Thomas Gabrielle Nursing Home.
Nanette has been developing her knowledge and skills in the Care Sector for approximately 9 years and has successfully completed her Registered Managers Award Level 4 in Care. Nanette regularly attends training and is always looking to develop her skills and knowledge in this area.
Nanette has also completed the Social Care Induction Framework programme and her D32/D33 Assessors Award and NVQ Level 3 Occupational Health & Safety.
Nanette has attended palliative care, protection of vulnerable adults, medication, peg feed training and regularly attends first aid, fire safety and manual handling training.
Nanette has 13 years experience in all aspects of administration and I.T. skills also completing a level two Sage accountancy course. Nanette is committed to self development, staff training and compliance with Care Standards Act 2000.
Debbie Michna
Debbie Michna is the Registered Manager at Hollylodge and has been employed at Hollylodge since 1990. Within this time Debbie has gained knowledge and experience in the Residential Care Setting by attending in house and external courses.
Debbie was the Deputy Manager at Hollylodge since 2000 before becoming the Manager in 2012 and has achieved NVQ 4 in Health & Social Care Debbie is committed to self development and to the high standards of care delivered at Hollylodge.
Mark Virgo
Mark Virgo is the Finance Manager and works between all the homes, where he carries out all finance related work and various Human Resources duties as required. Mark is also responsible for upgrades to the homes as required and has attended and achieved his Sage accounts Level 2 as well as Occupational Health and Safety and Fire safety awareness.
