Victoria (Vikki) Carr has been employed with Virgo Care Homes since May 2012, she initially worked at Hollylodge and then transferred to TGEMI in September 2012.
Vikki has worked in the care sector for 12 years, her career started as a tea person and then she moved into the role of Care Assistant. Within 5 years Vikki achieved her NVQ 2 and 3 in care and continued to develop her knowledge and skills to become a Team Leader, a role which she held for approximately 4 years. After this Vikki became a unit manager in an EMI setting for 18 months before transferring Virgo Care Homes.
Vikki is currently undertaking a Level 5 Qualification in Management and Leadership (QCF) and is committed to self development and the development of Dementia Services within our organisation.
TGEMI has 6 Team Leaders covering the day and night shifts and they all have the relevant skills & knowledge to carry out their role. All Team Leaders wear a white tunic to identify that they are the Team Leader on duty and all staff have name badges. Team Leaders are the responsible persons for running the team on a day to day basis and are available to speak to if required.
Relief Team Leaders
TGEMI has 2 Relief Team Leaders, all with relevant skills and knowledge.
TGEMI has 18 care staff and all have relevant skills & knowledge to carry out their role. Training is provided in various subjects on an internal and external basis and updating of staff training is a continual process. All Care Staff wear a lilac tunic.
TGEMI has 4 housekeeping staff, two of whom are working each day.
TGEMI has 2 cooks to cover the Home, one cook works each day. Both cooks have attained Food Hygiene Certificates. We also employ a tea person to serve and prepare evening meals.
The Home employs Anthony Virgo, who is also Gwyneth’s son, as the full time Maintenance Person to carry out maintenance within the Thomas Gabrielle. Anthony has been employed in the home since 2011 and has previous experience of all types of maintenance work. Anthony also carries out any remedial work at TGEMI at the moment but this is limited due to the age of the building.
Specialist maintenance is purchased from outside qualified Businesses as required.
TGEMI has a part time administrator to assist with the daily clerical duties at the home.
